I actually have a minute. So I will delve into what a wonderful time I had back East. I will go into detail about my days, and how much FUN it was!!!
Wednesday, 11/15/2006, I boarded an airplane at 9:56 AM en route to Newark International Airport. We landed at about 4:10 PM EST. I got my luggage and then noticed a dude carrying a sign that said, "Ms. Wray". SWEET! I got my own private driver to take me into the Princeton campus in New Jersey where I would be staying for 2 nights.
At the hotel I unpacked and then went down to the restraunt where we were served dinner. And, OH MY! Super delish! My guys were telling me that it is like 5 course dining, and they were right.
I met a few other C.A.'s from different area's of the USA durring dinner. And after dinner Amy, from West Virginia, and I went to Harry's and had a few drinks.
The next morning we had LONG seminars for our training purposes. They were boring, but educational.
At lunch I met a few other girls, Meg from LA, Melanie from Palm Beach-FL, Susan from FL, and Lisa from Michigan, we decided that after our last training module for the day, we'd take the train into New York City.
So at around 6pm we all met in the lobby and boarded the shuttle to the Princeton Junction Train Station and road the New Jersey Express (I think that was what it was called) into NYC.
Oh, yeah...and it was pouring RAIN!
The train dropped us off at Penn Station. Right in the heart of Manhattan. The first thing I saw while walking up the steps out of the train station was the Empire State Building. BEAUTIMUS! Astonishing!
Then I saw Madison Square Garden and that huge *MACY'S department store.
From there we walked about 10-15 blocks into Times Square. Which looks just like what you see on T.V. But more astounding. Lights EVERYWHERE! It was like nothing I had ever experianced.
We had dinner at a Mexican restraunt and then boarded the 11:43PM train back to Princeton. We didn't get back into our rooms until after 2AM.
Friday I got up, went to more classes and at 4pm I went into NYC. But this time it was to stay until Sunday.
I went with Meg to her hotel and then we went to Kyle's apartment. (Kyle also works for Merrill. In the NYC office) after visiting with Kyle for a while we headed up to my hotel so that I could check in. I changed out of my work clothes and we went and met Mike. (OH- Mike is this guy that we met on our train ride into NYC Thursday night. He had to deal with us rowdy women and he and Meg hit it off, they went to some similar colleges) Anyway, we met up with him and then we joined up with some of Meg's friends from back home at a bar. They all wanted to go to SoHo, but seeing it was already 1AM, and I was planning on getting up at 6 to go sight seeing all day, I hopped on the SubWay and went back to my hotel room.
Saturday morning I got up, got ready, and then walked over to Central Park. I bought a ticket for some double-decker sight-seeing bus. That was the best thing ever! They took you all through down-town. I absolutely LOVE architecture, so I enjoyed learning about all of the different types of buildings.
The only stop that I got off at (I wish I would have hopped off at more, but I was pushing my limit on sight-seeing) was Ground Zero. And OMG. What a different feel it had to it compared to the rest of the city. It was somber, calm, almost eerie at times. But it was great. I saw a lot of the pictures that people had posted, and I walked over to where the Firestation was that was first on call to the attacks. It was an amazing, yet, sad sight.
My tour ended in Times Square at about 6PM. So I had some dinner and decided to do the City Lights Night Tour. That was pretty awesome. They took you all through they city, and then over into Brooklyn so that you can see the skyline of NYC at night. Very breath-taking.
I ended the night early, because I was so tired, and my legs were about to fall off! lol
Sunday I didn't do anything. You could tell I was worn out and ready to head home. Meg and I rented a Private Car to take us back to Newark Airport at about noon. I sat at the airport for 4 hours before my flight was scheduled to leave.
But I bought a book and lost myself in it. Seeing I work full-time, and and a mom full-time at night, I never get a chance to read. That was the first book I had really picked up to read since before Bailee.
Now I am home. Wanting to go back and see more of the sights that I missed.
But next time I will be taking Eric with me. And possibly Bailee as well. It all depends on when we go and how old she will be.
Bailee is still at my dad's house. They wanted to keep her until Thanksgiving. So I am missing her emensely! But Thanksgiving is right around the corner! Literally! lol
I hope you all have a safe and wonderful Thanksgiving!
