Thankful Thursday

I am so very thankful for Bailee's Kindergarten teacher. Bailee had her Kindergarten testing this morning and she is at the very top of her class. Her teacher said that she is 'more than ready' for 1st grade and will be very advanced going into it. She is an AMAZING teacher who has really taught Bailee so much! Thank you for everything you have done Mrs. Crossley!!!

I am thankful to be back at work. I am still having my heart issues ... =( ... But, I am actually able to get up without feeling dizzy and faint. I was so worried I'd have to use up all my vacation time laid up in bed. Now, that's not fun!!!

I'm thankful for finding all my old friends again! (thanks in part to the social networking site...uh-hum...facebook)

Anyway, that's my list!

Heart Issues

I don't know exactly what is wrong with me. I attempted to go to the Insta-Care yesterday ... thinking that they could diagnose the problem. Ummm, NOPE!

Thursday afternoon, while at work, I started feeling like my heart was racing. I felt hot, disoriented, and light-headed. I was on a call with a client at the time, and thankfully it wasn't a long call ... because I was about to start panicking. My heart beat seemed really irregular, so I started feeling my pulse. Yup, it was irregular. It was missing, or as some call it, skipping beats. I felt relieved when it ended just as quickly as it began.

But then on the way home from work, it started again. I picked up Bailee from DayCare and sat in the parking lot waiting for it to stop. It didn't stop ... so, I drove home. I got home laid on the couch and just felt sick. I called Eric and told him about it ... he asked if he should come home and take me to the ER. I told him no, because for one...I hate going to the doctor...and two...because I didn't want to go and have it be nothing. It continued all night long ... I couldn't really get off the couch without feeling faint and weak.

When I got up Friday morning, it wasn't doing it anymore... I only felt exhausted and weak. And my chest hurt quite a bit...I'm not sure why...maybe from the stress? Anyway, I got ready and left for work. After driving about 10 miles down the freeway ... IT. HIT. ME. And it hit me HARD! My heart would beat normal for about 4 beats ... and then it would pause for a quick second and then beat again for about 4 beats ... and so on and so on. It was making it really hard for me to breathe. And in turn, I was getting very light-headed from trying so hard to breathe. I pulled off the freeway and sat in a parking lot pretty much hyper-ventilating. I was bawling and so scared. I calmed down and called Eric, but I felt confused and was having a really hard time finding my words to talk to him. He wanted to come and get me, but I didn't want Bailee to be late for school. I stayed in the parking lot for a while and just tried to calm down. Once I had calmed down enough to drive, I got back on the freeway and drove home. I laid down and immediately fell asleep. I was so exhausted. But, I kept waking up from my heart skipping beats.

I had Eric take me to the Insta-Care after Bailee got out of school. I was weak, dizzy, and felt so sick once we got there. They ended up rushing me back because of the 'heart' thing. They checked my blood pressure (which was really high) and then monitored my heart beats. After they were done with my vitals they had me go to a room to get an EKG. I was still feeling very dizzy and my heart was still skipping around and freaking me out.

The DR came in after I got my EKG. He listened to my chest, and my breathing and then asked me like a gazillion questions.

Apparently, my EKG was showing some irregularities, but nothing that is life-threatening. He put me on some anti-anxiety meds and some anti-inflammatories, and then told me to get some rest. He is hoping that the palpitations and arrhythmia I am experiencing is related to anxiety.

So, here I am ... about 30 hours later ... still having the issues. I've taken the meds, they aren't helping. I'm hoping that I just have to give it a day or two to get into my system. But, I am of no good. I lay on the couch and that is about it. And even when I am laying on the couch resting...I am still having the irregularity and palpitations.... When I get up, I am dizzy. I get out of breath just walking to the bathroom.

I really hope that the meds kick in, and this all goes away. I don't want to have to go back. However, I feel I am going to have to get a second opinion on Monday ... cause, I can't live like this. I have a job. How am I supposed to work if every time I stand up I get light-headed ... and how am I supposed to function when I feel like my heart is either going to stop beating, or explode??

Uggghhhh

Thankful Thursday

It's Thursday! The day to go over what we are thankful for!!

Here's my list for this week:

1- My Mom: This past Sunday was Mother's Day ... I am so thankful for my Mom! She has such great determination and knows how to work her butt off to get what she wants in life. I know I am like her in so many ways, and I am happy with that. She has such a great work ethic and is kind and loving to her kids. I am so very thankful to have such a great, strong, and supportive Mother! I love you Mom!!!

2- My Step-Mom: I am pretty blessed in life to be able to have one great Mom, let alone TWO! Angie is an amazing "other" mother. (no, not like on Coraline ... that'd be creepy ... plus- she doesn't have button eyes lol) She has always been there for me, especially at times where my Mom couldn't be. She is so very talented and crafty! She's loves my dad and she is a fabulous mom to my brothers! I couldn't have hand-picked a better step-mom. I love you Angie!

3- Bailee: She is who makes me want to be a better person. She is the reason I wake up in the morning and work as hard as I do. I love my little angel more than life itself! She took great care of her Mama for Mother's Day!

4- Macro Buttons: I was recently introduced to this super cool, way awesome buttons at work! They are in one of the programs that we have to document all of our calls and client interactions in. It makes it SO MUCH faster! (To be honest, I learned about it in training last year...but forgot...and then was reminded yesterday...lol)

5- Farm Town: It's on Facebook... and... IT'S AWESOME!! Totally is a time waster when time needs to be wasted!

I had a longer listed written down at work... but, I forgot to bring it home with me. That, and I'm having health issues right now... I'm headed to the couch!!!

What are you Thankful for? Feel free to steal the new logo that this diva made and create your own list!

Mom Day

Mother's Day was great this year! (what year is it not great?!?)

Unfortunately, Eric had to work until 3pm...but, it was still fantastic!!! =)

I woke up to my sweet, little, excited Goo bringing me her Mother's Day gifts.

They planted a sunflower in a small, milk-box, pot in school for Mother's Day. However, Bailee's was ruined before she could give it to me. She was pretty distraught about her Mother's Day gift being ruined. So .... Daddy helped her make a Sunflower that will last forever! (which is best for me anyway....seeing I can't keep a simple plant alive)

Her teacher also had them draw a picture of what their Mommy most wants at this time in life. Bailee drew a picture of Me, her, and a little sister. (which she was cute at explaining to me.... she said..."I drew a little sister because you want a baby so bad.") My heart melted right at that moment and I pulled her into bed with me to snuggle with her.

Bailee and I drove down to Provo for a BBQ at my Grandparents' house. I enjoyed it, because I don't feel like I get to spend enough time with my Mom's side of the family. We had chicken that my Grandpa did a GREAT job on grilling. And, oh-my, I was spoiled! Grandma made ROLLS! Her sister, Carol, has this amazing recipe for homemade rolls. I am spoiled because I usually only get to enjoy these said rolls on Thanksgiving. Ahhh....it was wonderful!

My brother, Nick, filled up my tank with gas for Mother's Day....what an awesome brother!

We, Nick and I, took Bailee and my cousins to the park right behind my grandparents house to play. They had so much fun!

While watching the kids play on the playground, I found a four-leafed clover! (please be true and bring luck!) However, immediately after I found it...I showed my brother. I guess he was super jealous of me, because he ripped it out of my hands and ate it! (you're so mature Nick! lol) BUT! (and this is the lucky part) After I threw a fit for him stealing my good luck charm...he looked down on the ground and found another one for me. (now, if that isn't good luck, then what is?!?!) I made sure, at this time, to keep my good luck charm FAR FAR FAR away from Nick.

After a few hours spent at my Grandma's house. Bailee and I took the long journey back to our home. (Lucky Bailee! She got to sleep on the hour drive)

Eric took me out for Sushi for my Mother's Day dinner. He hates Sushi, so we went to Tepanyaki where he could order steak and/or chicken.

It was another great Mother's Day to remember forever!

H2O

I am addicted!

I don't know how many of you are aware that, practically, all I drink is water!!! I know, I am shocking some old high school friends that take a gander at this blog. Because, I used to only run on Dr. Pepper. (lol)

Yuck! I hate soda! I truly only drink water. Anytime I am out to dinner with my family, all I order is an ice water.

This makes it hard for when I feel like fast food. At a lot of fast food establishments, it is always cheaper to order the Value Meal. However, a lot of the fast food chains add more when you request a water, instead of the soda pop.

Anyway, this post is about H2O and about how much I love it!

I drink a lot of water. Daily! It is not unheard of for me to drink more than a gallon of water a day. (Maybe a lot isn't appropriate when referring to how much I drink)

I am constantly thirsty. I wake up, at the least - 3 times a night - to CHUG water. I usually end up having to get up at around 3am to re-fill my water bottle. And, I'd more than likely DIE of thirst if I did not have a full bottle of water next to me while I sleep.

I have been checked for low thyroid, diabetes, etc...etc...etc... for my excessive thirst. (all have come back negative)

However, this addiction to H2O is pretty bothersome for me. I constantly have dry, chapped lips, even after chugging a whole 32 oz's. My throat is also constantly dry and thirsty! And, the waking up numerous amounts of times during the night...DRIVES ME BANANAS!!

So....H2O....(or, more commonly know as WATER)...please just quench my thirst right away. Don't make me chug 32 oz's of you like I'm in the middle of the desert on a super dry, hot day! I need my beauty sleep! (trust me...I really do!)

Or maybe I need to be pleading to my body to just accept the water that I am in taking...

Hmmmmm...I don't know....all I know is that I started with a full 32 oz bottle of water at the begining of this post (10 min's ago) ... and I've been out of water for about 3 minutes now...and during those 3 minutes I have had to lick my lips about every 10 seconds because I am thirsty. That, and my mouth is sooooo dry!!!

I'm ending this post now........ I NEED WATER!!!!

So True!

I know that today is not Monday. But, it IS my Monday! (I work Tues-Sat) Anyway, this made me giggle! =)

You know you're becoming your Mother when:

You use the phrase, "If 'so and so' jumped off a bridge, would you?".

I must admit, I am becoming more and more like my Mother every day. (not that it's a bad thing)

Now let me set the scene......

Bailee is a fantastic child. She is very good at knowing what is right, and what is wrong. We never really seem to have many problems with her. She learns quickly and is great at behaving.

BUT! And this is a big but ... lately she has been seeming to get in trouble ALL THE TIME. I know, I know ... "kids will be kids". But, is that really true for a kid who never gets in trouble, never has issues ... etc??

Alright, back to the story ... there is this little girl, Cinderella*, in our neighborhood ... (*names have been kept out to protect the guilty innocent*.) ... that always seems to cause the mischief.

We had a lot of rainy weather the past couple of weeks. Now, Bailee knows better than to jump in the puddles...but, Cinderella, no...Cinderella LOVED puddles ... she also LOVED finding ways to get Bailee to disobey her caring Mother, and have her jump in the puddles!

Little Miss Bailee also knows that she is only allowed to play in the back, where the playground is, and where there are no cars. However, Cinderella would rather play in the front ... by the cars.

Poor Bailee has spent a few 'time-outs' in her room from jumping in puddles seven a few times, after being told not too. And also a few times for not staying in the back away from the cars.

On Friday ... Eric was walking outside to check on our perfect little Bailee and the devil Cinderella, before he went to check our mail. Bailee and Cinderella were playing on top of a red car our in the parking lot.

THAT. WAS. IT!!!

Eric brought Bailee into the house and told me what he had just witnessed and I asked Bailee why, when she knew better, would she walk on top of some one's car. She answered with, "Because, Cinderella wanted me too." I was upset and I uttered one of the many phrases that I "swore" I'd never say to my own child! It was the phrase;

"If Cinderella wanted you to jump off a bridge, would you?"

Yes, yes ... I did it.

Guess there is no going back now?!?!

I am officially becoming my Mother!

(Mom, you know I don't consider that a bad thing! It's just weird...seeing I told myself, after every time you used that phrase towards me, that I'd never ever ever say that to my own child...ha ha ... Boy were you right!)
(Oh, I'm not admitting that you were "right" right...just on that one tiny incident...hee hee...love you Mommy)

I'm Baaack!!

Alright, alright, alright ...

This blogcation is officially over!!!

It was a nice, much needed break!

No, I did not get a new computer... (dang it) ...but, I have played around with it and got it up and running quicker than it was before.

To be honest, I actually have had it up and running better since the day after I announced going on this said "blogcation" ... but, still felt like I needed a break. I have had a LOT going on in my life the past few months. A LOT is still going on, but... I'm back!!!

I have to also let you know that it may be slow going at first, I have lost the energy for normal updates ... I need to find it again. Please bear with me!!

Did ya miss me????

**Thanks Tib for the idea of using the 'Shining' image for my comeback ...
