She is truly my one and only. I love her more and more each and every day. And, I cannot believe my angel baby is now SIX years old!

I love her so much, and again ... this week ... (and forever) ... Bailee is all that I am truly thankful for in life.

I miss her, I love her ... and I can't wait til she gets to come home!!!

What are you thankful for?

**(I guess I should also throw a shout out to my new iPhone ... because, without it ... those pictures would not have been possible for me. So, iPhone ... I am also thankful for you and your photo editing capabilities!!)

Thankful Thursday: Bailee Edition

Yay for the new logo! I've been (im)patiently waiting for Tib to get back from Vacation so that she'd post a new one ... haha (I'm not as creative as her, unfortunately)

Ok ... So, Bailee's 6th birthday is this Saturday. So, I decided to make this post about HER and her entrance into this world!!!

I am so thankful that she came into my life. Yes, she wasn't planned, but ... she is still and will always be the best thing that ever happened to me.

Six years ago, on this day, I was already 2 days past my July 21st due date. It was so incredibly hot that summer (110+ for most of July). And I was incredibly miserable! My calves, ankles, and feet were swollen beyond recognition. All I wanted was to finally meet my baby girl.

On that day, six years ago, a bunch of my extended family all piled up in cars and drove to Jordan High School where we rode TRAX to the Gateway Mall in Downtown SLC. The last thing I wanted to do was walk around outside in the heat. But, my mom INSISTED that it'd put me into labor.

I still hadn't made a decision on what Bailee's middle name was going to be. So, we were all brainstorming different ideas. My hilarious cousins, Jake and Jayce (both about 14 at the time), said that I should just drop the Bailee and name her "Frankie Forcefield". ha-ha!! Anyway, that's when my mom came up with Nicole......because it is like Nicholas.....my only 'full-blooded' brother. I LOVED it!

Later that night my mom made me go on a 2 mile walk with her. (wasn't walking around the Gateway all day long enough?!?!?) We got home at about 11pm and I went to bed ... only to be woken up at 3am with the worst back pain of my life. I have had back problems since I was 16, so I didn't think anything of it. I think I paced and paced and paced for hours trying to get my back to stop hurting.

I remember sitting on the couch in my grandma's basement watching TV when my Step-dad got up at 7am (July 24th). He came out and watched the television with me and after seeing me in pain, asked if he should wake up my mom. I didn't want want him to, because it was her birthday ... and I know how much my mama loves to sleep in.

I continued my battle with the back pain, which was now also in my lower abdomen. My mom woke up at around 10am and Tye told her about the pain that I was in. Because I wasn't screaming in pain, she didn't think much of it. She told me to take a shower and start getting ready for the picnic and that she'd time my "pains" while I was doing so. (at this point, I still hadn't realized I was having contractions ... because it was mostly my back hurting ... that, and I didn't want to ruin my mom's birthday by making her spend it in the hospital with me)

After I got ready, I sat on the couch with my brother while my mom got ready. I was talking to Nick and was in some serious pain ... half joking, half serious, I told him to find a gun and put me out of my misery. He went in to my mom and said, "Mom, I think you need to take Jami to the hospital. She wants me to kill her." Shortly after he told her that ... I overheard her tell my grandma, "I'm going to take Jami to the hospital. Even though I'm sure they will just send her home."

On our way to the hospital, mom decided she wanted to stop at Old Navy for the 24th sales ... and cause it was her birthday. While walking around the store, I was in extreme pain. I was clenching onto the end caps of clothes every 2 minutes dying. Shopping while in labor is NOT fun!

We got to the hospital at about 1:30, they checked me and I was already dilated to a 3. They hooked me up to a machine to track my contractions and within an hour they were wheeling me back and ordering the epidural. (ha-ha mom! They did keep me!) That is when I called Eric in St. George and told him to start heading up.

After I got the epidural, everything stopped. No progress. (this was at about 2:30) So, they started me on the pitocin.

Eric made it in plenty of time. He showed up at 6pm. I think I was only dilated to a 5. We spent the night in my room ... hoping that a baby would finally pop out. I felt so bad for my mom. Here it was, her birthday, and she was stuck in a hospital room with a grand baby that was too stubborn to come out.

My mom kept hoping that Bailee would come out and be her birthday present. But, nope. Bailee had her own plans, and she wanted her own birthday. At about 9pm my mom kept talking to my stomach trying to coax her out ... it got really funny when it was 11:30pm and mom was telling Bailee how many minutes she had til midnight. haha

Anywho- Finally at 6:30am, I was dilated to a 9. Dr. Smith decided it was time to start pushing. I pushed for TWO AND HALF HOURS STRAIGHT!!!! Bailee finally decided to grace us with her stubborn presence at 9:07am July 25, 2003. She weighed in at 8lbs 1oz and was 19 1/2 inches long. She was beautiful!

Ok, Ok, Ok ... I know I just rambled on and on. And I really don't blame you if you didn't read this whole thing. But, I felt like reminiscing.

I am so thankful to be a mother to such an amazing daughter. She truly is my angel baby and I love her more than anything in this world!!

I hope you have a great birthday weekend, Bailee!!! Mama is excited to see you tonight!!!

**What are you thankful for??**

Tool concert in the Wells Fargo Suite

So, whenever there is an event or concert at the Energy Solutions Arena ... Wells Fargo employees are able to enter their name into a drawing for the right to puchase tickets at a discounted price and sit in the Wells Fargo Luxory Suite.

Now, I am not the biggest Tool fan, I acutally can't really even call myself a 'fan' at all. But, anytime they send out the email ... I put my name in. Cause, you just never know.

Well, low and behold, they drew my name this time. So, I purchased two tickets at a very discounted price and took my good friend Ryan with me. It was a blast. I'm glad we went. And, Tool was pretty good. I am going to download some of their music. Because, I was pretty impressed.

Anyway, this weekend was a really good one. I'm glad that I have such great friends who do a wonderful job at distracting me. I really love you guys!!! =D

Here are a couple photos from last night:

It was pretty cool, the lead singer was in the back left hand corner ... at one point he was singing in his underware ... ahhhh...silly

Ryan in the super sweet Suite

We even had a private bathroom!! =D

Crazy, silly Ryan. Always making some sort of funny face.

Addicted to the 'high five'

Yummmm ... Beer + Concerts = Fun times!

Good Friends

Where would I be without my super awesome friends like Ryan??

Weekend as a "Family"

Bailee and Eric were able to come up last weekend and stay from Friday night to Monday early afternoon. It was really nice having them here. Especially my little booger butt.

We really didn't do too much. It was fun just hanging out around the house and, as Bailee calls it, be a 'family'.

I did, of course, take a bunch of photos of Bee ... and of Bee and Me. Ooohhhh, I already miss her so bad!

Friday night we went shopping for some more summer clothes for Bailee, and then we came home and I went to bed. (I had to be to work at 7am Saturday morning)

Eric wasn't feeling too good on Saturday, so we ordered Pizza and hung out watching TV and movies. I also put Bailee's hair in some curlers ... the next morning she had a MAJOR afro! It was too cute!

Sunday we took Bailee to the swimming pool so she could show mommy all the things she's learned in swimming lessons. After swimming we went back home to shower and get ready for dinner and a movie. We put Bailee in the bathtub and Eric and I were watching some television waiting for her to be done. I could hear her singing at the top of her lungs, "Beat It, Just Beat It, No One Wants To Be Defeated....". I bust up laughing!! It was the cutest thing ever! After she finished that song she went on to sing, "Heal the World, Make It a Better Place...". Yeah, you can tell she watched a TON of the Michael Jackson stuff with her Dad. I didn't think to get a video of her singing in the bath until after she was finished. But, here ... you can watch what I did get ...

We ended up going to Chili's for dinner. And then to a late showing of the new Ice Age movie in 3D.

Unfortunately the weekend had to end with them driving away. It was harder on me this time than the last time, for some reason. But, we had a really good time and I can't wait until they come up next weekend for Bailee's birthday.

Anyway ... enjoy ALL these pics!!

Thankful Thursday

I am sooooooooooo very thankful for the time I got to spend with Eric and Bailee last weekend. I have been pretty bummed out since they left. But, I know I'll be okay.

I still need to do a post with all the pictures from last weekend. I will get to it ... I promise. I have been working overtime this week and have been pretty tired.

Which brings me into the next thing that I am thankful for....OVERTIME...I may bitch and moan about it, but- I love it. I love my job, I love my co-workers, and I love the distraction that working causes. Oh, and the extra pay isn't bad either! haha

I am still thankful for my awesome friends. Without them I'd be on the floor not able to move.

I am also thankful for laughter. I had such a good time last night. I laughed until my stomach hurt...and my cheek muscles are still so sore from the laughter. It's always good to laugh....and I absolutely LOVE laughing until I am crying.

One thing I wish I could be thankful for is SLEEEEEEEEP! I have horrible insomnia. It's ridiculous! I think I really only get about 2 hours of continuous sleep a night. Uuuggghhhhh And, I don't want to go back to the ambien...but, I think I'm going to have to. I've been so worn out. And lack of sleep doesn't help with the slight depression that I've got going on right now.

Anyway- I am thankful for a whole lot! Even the little things that I fail to mention.

What are YOU thankful for today??!!???

And just like that ... they're gone

Eric and Bailee just left after their weekend visit.

Time to curl up in a ball....

Why did this time hurt more than when they left 4 weeks ago?
