Happy (belated) Father's Day
Happy Father's Day to you Dad!! I love you more than you'll ever know!! You've always been there for me, and supported me in my decisions...no matter what they were. You are a great example of the perfect Father! You love all of your kids with your whole heart and would do anything for them. I love how you are with Bailee, and I love how much she adores you. You truly are the WORLDS GREATEST DAD and GRANDPA!! I love you Daddy!!
My Step-Dad
What can I say about my 'baby daddy'? (haha jk) Oh, Eric...you already know how much you mean to me and how much I will always and forever love you! You are the most patient, kind, and understanding father in the entire UNIVERSE! Bailee totally looks up to and loves you more than anything! (even more than me...haha) I thank you for everything you do for her. I thank you for taking such great care of her while she is staying with you in St. George this summer. I love you, Eric. You are truly my best friend and the best daddy to our little Gooey!!Saturday, February 14, 2009

Officially an Ashton

What better way to celebrate Thanksgiving....
Today...November 26, 2008...my dad was able to finally OFFICIALLY adopt my step-brother, Tristan.
Tristan was born on September 5, 1995. Eleven days after my dad married my step-mom, Angie. Tristan really hasn't known his real father (known 'of' him, and been around him, but not "known" him). My dad has always been his dad. From the day he was able to say the word "Dad".....that word has always been for my Daddy.
Today, finally, after many years of working to get this thing taken care of...(and letting Tristan turn 12 and be able to make that decision on his own)...my Dad was able to give him his last name.
No longer a Peters...now an Ashton.
I am soooooo very excited and happy for this!!
Enjoy a few pictures of my little brother Tristan (12).

Love of my Life
So, I was going through this box of old stuff this evening...and I came across all my photos of when Eric and I first met, and when we were dating. (SOOOO adorable...I'll share later) Blah, blah, blah....
ANYWAY!!! I also came across these letters or "poems" that he wrote me right before we first started dating (but after we had been best friends for over a year)....I thought I'd share them....
I met Eric...April 2001. We dated for about 3 months before I broke things off because I was scared of being 'serious' with anyone. I didn't see him again until January of 2002, where we went on a double date with one of his roomates.
We continued seeing eachother....pretty much everyday. We quickly became 'BEST FRIENDS'.
I, at the time, was also dating this other guy....(name not important)...which, of course....Eric did not like.
LONG STORY...which nobody cares to hear about, and it really doesn't matter...because he and I are together now...right???!! LOL
ANYWAY...May 2002...after about the third time of him asking me if I'd be his girlfriend...and I refusing...he gave me an ultimatim.
I was flying out to Florida to spend some time with my Mother. Eric gave me this letter before I left:

Anyway, I read the letter....spent the 7 days in Florida thinking...came home with full intentions of being with him.
What happens??? I get home...and in those 7 days that I was gone...he had started dating someone else...
Stupid 'Sara' girl...(who, obviously, was a NOBODY!)
Needless to say...the 'sara' phase lasted only three days. Eric and I were an 'Official' couple only a few short days after I returned from Florida.
There was also another 'poem/letter' that he wrote for me. I'll just cite it, since it was written on a few index cards.
"It doesn't matter how we met, we are known to each other. I've been lookin not with my eyes, but with my heart. That makes me know who you are. With every tug and pull, I can't take much more. He was the one who was to be yours, your heart was broken, up went the wall, up went the blocking of feelings for me. Is wanting to be one with you adding more height and thickness to the weight of the bricks? It is said time heals. Isn't it about time? Just remember the first sight that made your pulse quicken, the first touch, sweet and soft. The kiss that set your body on fire. These feelings are pure and deep. Do you remember? With each thought, remove a brick. With each feeling, take down more. Life is new, remember the past. Learn to forget and move on. Take a brick down Jami. I'm afraid the bigger it gets, the harder it is to remember. Remember when nothing else mattered but hand in hand. Take another brick down. Love gives us hope, makes us happier, healthier and wiser. You said you believe love doesn't exist. Peer through the holes. Remove a brick and feel what I feel. You need to feel, Jami, don't think or speak. Love is unspoken. If you must, then put back the bricks. Hide behind fears. Keep adding that which hurts. That's your wall. You say it keeps you from pain. How could that be if nothing good gets in? Your heart can't grow, you can't improve, and things won't get better. Take another brick down. Jami, it's not too late. Your heart is weak. Remove another brick, let some light in, heal what is broken. I only have so much to give. So much to share. So much time to spend. Give me just a little part of you. Something good that once was lively and new. Make me feel wanted. Show that you care. The wall you say that helps, has hurt. It has broken anything that is good to come out. It has made you bitter and selfish. It has taken the brightness and replaced it with darkness. I see through the cracks sometimes. And what a wonderful person you are. Someday I hope to see all of what God spent so much time on. One of his greatest creations. Realize how special you are. How much you can give. Remember, Jami, rember while removing one brick at a time."
He made me cry the day he read me that poem....and I knew, with everything inside of me...that I was going to spend the rest of my life with this man!!!
I love my man. My husband. Eric John Wray. I am the happiest woman alive! I am also one lucky lady who gets to wake up next to him each and every day!! He absolutely loves me more than anything!! And, I would give anything just to please him!
I may not have been in a great place when he met me. I may have been suffering from a horrible broken heart at the time. But, I would not be the woman I am today if it wasn't for this man. He is the GREATEST thing that could have ever happened to me.
I am proud to have my name be Mrs. Eric Wray!!!
